Bio/Profile
Peter Maniscalco, the founder and CEO of Artistic Stone / Maniscalco / ArtisticStone Gallery, Inc., was born in a small town called Poggioreale in Eastern Sicily,Italy. At the age of ten he moved with his family to Australia, following in the footsteps of other relatives that previously had moved to Sydney.
Peter attended De La Selle College, Ashfield, majoring in accounting. For the next five years he pursued a career as an accountant working for two large trading companies, both based in Sydney.
While on vacation, he travelled with a friend to Italy and stumbled across the Bologna Tile Fair. After attending the fair they both looked into the possibility of distributing Italian ceramic tiles in Australia. This was the start of the great journey that drove him into the stone business.
Peter’s love for the natural stone, and his experience with the accounting side of a business, allowed him to build a company that currently has a presence in Turkey, China, India, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, and United States. All of Peter’s family are involved in the business.
